Grinding is the key process of precision mold processing. Finishing grinding should strictly control the occurrence of grinding deformation and grinding cracks, and even control the microcracks on the surface of the workpiece. The following aspects should be considered when formulating the precision grinding process.
(1) Select grinding wheel for precision mold: PA chrome steel jade grinding wheel and GC green silicon carbide grinding wheel can be selected according to the characteristics of high tungsten, high vanadium, high molybdenum, high alloy and high hardness of mold materials; When processing hard alloy and materials with high quenching hardness, diamond grinding wheel with organic binder is used. The organic binder grinding wheel has good self-grinding ability and the grinding precision of the workpiece is above IT5, roughness up to Ra = 0.16μm requirements. CBN cubic boron nitride grinding wheels are used in CNC forming grinding machines, coordinate grinding machines, CNC internal and external circular grinding machines for finishing, and the effect is better than other types of grinding wheels. In the grinding process, the grinding wheel should be dressed in time to keep the sharpness of the grinding wheel. When the grinding wheel is passivated, it will slide, scratch and squeeze on the surface of the workpiece, causing burns, microscopic cracks or grooves on the surface of the workpiece, which will affect the machining accuracy.
(2) Precision mold feed selection: the feed amount of precision grinding should be small, the cooling during grinding should be sufficient, the precision mold should choose coolant medium as much as possible, and the parts with machining allowance within 0.01mm should be ground at constant temperature.
(3) workpiece clamping: the characteristics of shaft parts is composed of a number of rotary surface, precision machining method is generally used in the outer grinding machine grinding. In the process of processing, the workpiece is clamped and positioned by grinder chuck and tailstock or the workpiece is positioned by head and tail. At this time, the connection line between the chuck and the center is the center line of the workpiece after grinding. If the center line jumps, the coaxiality of the workpiece after processing cannot meet the requirements. Therefore, the chuck and concentricity detection and head and tail centering inspection should be done well before processing. When grinding the inner hole of the book wall, the clamping process table should be considered, that is, the bending strength under the action of the car is taken as the design criterion, the stability under the axial pressure Fb of the telescopic arm is taken as the check, and the computer program is used to search the wall thickness of each section under the condition that the height of the side plate of the box section changes in a circular manner, the initial total weight of the telescopic arm is obtained according to the material density.
